EDISON PTO - Purses 4 a Purpose
CANCELLED due to COVID-19
A tough decision regarding the 2020 Purses 4 a Purpose event.
Dear Purses 4 a Purpose supporters:
Under normal circumstances this would be our lead up week to the Purses 4 a Purpose (P4P) event! We appreciate all of you who bought tickets and were looking forward to the fun as much as we have as the Edison community.
After serious deliberation, Edison PTO has decided to CANCEL the Purses 4 a Purpose event in 2020.
Our decision to cancel was not an easy one and we took two main factors into consideration:
1) Safety - of our attendees, event staff and volunteers. Knowing the large crowd our event generates, for your safety and the safety of those who work and volunteer at the event, we felt cancelling was the right decision. We understand that Ohio has taken great measures to "flatten the curve", however, as phased openings move forward, there is too much uncertainty if the curve will stay flat or begin to rise again, and to continue to postpone this event doesn't seem fair to all of you who support P4P.
2) Sponsors and Donations - Our sponsors and donors are critical to the success of the P4P event. And while we had several sponsors lined up and some donations coming in, once the true economic effects of COVID-19 hit our community, we realized getting all the needed sponsors and donors was going to be difficult. So many who have so generously supported us in the past are struggling to keep their own businesses afloat and employees paid. Your expectations as attendees and ours as as the PTO for this event are very high, and we did not want to move forward with an event that was anything less than we have done in past years and without the sponsors and donations, the event would not have met those expectations.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What does the cancellation mean for the Edison PTO?
P4P is our largest fundraising event of the year. Sadly, without it, this means our organization will have to scale back our programming and support for Edison Elementary once school reopens.
What does the cancellation mean for you the attendees?
You are entitled to a full ticket refund.
However, If you so choose, you can OPT-OUT of your ticket refund by making it a donation to Edison PTO. If you would like to turn your ticket into a donation, please email us at eagles@edisonpto.org no later than April 30th and indicate that you DO NOT want your refund processed.
This donation is considered tax-deductible, and documentation can be provided to you.
Refunds will begin processing May 1st and can take up to 3 to 7 days to appear on the credit card in which you made your ticket purchase.
Will P4P go on next year?
That is our plan! We are already working on a date, and will let you all know so you can save the date on your calendars.
Will my reserved table be saved for next year?
No, you'll need to go through the process to request a table again. That process will begin in 2021 and we will notify you in advance of how the reservation process will take place.
The Edison PTO thanks you for your support of the Purses 4 a Purpose event. We are sorry the event had to be cancelled, but we hope you all understand it was in the best interest of the whole community.
If you have questions, please reach out to us.
We look forward to seeing all of you in 2021!
All the Best,
The Edison PTO
